Still haging at The Quality Inn in Clearwater…working on some new tunes.
I quit my job. Now me and my wife travel wherever in our van 'Blue Bell' and play music...
Elephant Revival was was of the bands that played this year’s Springfest. They were A-mazing
Taking it easy after Mardi Gras. We made our way to Stephen Foster State Park in Lake City, FL. We’re slowly making our way to Jax for a Saturday night gig.
As mentioned earlier, we got Nikki’s Mom’s old Gibson LG 2 restored. It had been sitting up on the mountain for many years. This thing has been through the ringers - cracked neck, cracked body, bad sanding jobs, bad finish jobs, you name it. I’ve been hating on my Taylor lately, mostly because of feedback issues, so we decided to bite the bullet and try to get the old Gibson restored.
It ended sounding and playing great. I went right out and bought a Fishman Rare Earth pickup to put inside. So far it sounds smokin’ and I can’t wait to try it live.

A few days after Thanksgiving, we set out on what would be our longest stint away from our home base. It would take us from Brevard, NC to Tennessee, Texas, Mississippi, Alabama, South Carolina and Florida. We finally got back to Brevard today. In the two months, I think we played about 30 gigs while putting many many (too many??) miles on Blue Bell. We crashed everywhere from Walmart parking lots to fans homes, to state parks, as well as the occasional splurge on a hotel room. We’ve met some great and supportive people, camped out under the Geminid meteor shower, had our first major blowout in the van, played some great (and not-so-great) venues and just generally enjoyed laboring for our love.
I think we are just going to take loooong naps until we head out again for New Orleans in a few days. Got to rest up for Mardi Gras!
Cheers from Blue Bell
