Post-Springfest

Just spent the last 9 days or so in the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak, FL. Every year the Suwannee Springfest happens and we were invited to play this year’s event. We’re wooped after 9 days of camping, 3 sets during the weekend, torrential rains and late night jam sessions. 

Since the park has wifi, we’ve been hanging in the van and doing a little booking for most of our last day here. Tomorrow it’s on to Tallahassee!

Picked up a last minute gig in Greensboro. We made five dollars.
Ended up sleeping at The Walmart State Park(ing lot) in Burlington, NC.

Down here in Jackson, MS on the northbound leg of this run of gigs. We’re state parkin’ it tonight. We got in just as the sky opened up, which makes for trickier cooking on the camp stove.

Taking it easy after Mardi Gras. We made our way to Stephen Foster State Park in Lake City, FL. We’re slowly making our way to Jax for a Saturday night gig.

Had a gig at Awendaw Green in Charleston, SC last night. It kinda had some special meaning for us because this time last year (almost to the day) Awendaw Green was our first performance of the big Blue Bell adventure

A Year Later

It’s been a year since we decided to quit our jobs, buy a van and hit the open road to play music. Since then we’ve played about 170 shows in almost 90 different venues from North Carolina to Texas. We’ve also put over 38,000 miles on our van Blue Bell. Below is the the pic of the day we drove the van off of the used-car lot in Knoxville. Here’s to another year!
