Good with the bad

Found out yesterday that a gig we were en route to in Memphis was cancelled. The management was really nice and actually offered to hook us up with another place to play. This particular bar is called The Brass Door (also in Memphis).

It was kind of awkward from the start, as the staff didn’t really know there was going to be live music. We also thought we might have to play off in a corner table sitting down with no PA. In the end we just set up one speaker and crammed ourselves into small corner and made due. No one payed attention and we made zero money. We did get free food and the owner definitely wanted us back…with a guarantee this time. These things happen but you gotta roll with the punches. It still beats cubicle life!

On to Texas tomorrow..

We were headed to a gig in Memphis from Asheville only to find out it was cancelled. We were 5 hours into the ride. Apparently the venue decided it wasn’t doing live music anymore and we only found out because we just happened to contact them for confirmation. This is the first time that something like this has happened in the 11 months we’ve been touring. I’m actually surprised it hasn’t happened more. Just gonna chill in a hotel room in Nashville…
